I want to take a quick second to thank you for subscribing to this newsletter. Writing it gives me such a joy filled creative ritual. I’m grateful! Ok, onto the show.
I really appreciate a good checklist. If you use my mom checklist you know this about me already. I like making them. I like using them. They provide a steadying effect while building excitement for what’s to come. And what’s to come right now is summer! The list of things to keep track of is longer than what can comfortably float around in my ahead so I made a checklist for us below. I hope reading it helps you as much as writing it helped me! Enjoy!
Camp Clothes
For obvious reasons, everything listed here is under $30.
Tees - This stripe and this stripe. I also love this heathered fabric.
Shorts - My daughter likes this style for camp, these and these for my boy, and these to go under dresses.
Dresses - Some easy basics: here and here. Plus, this and this for the dress obsessed (as I’m writing this 50% off is applied at checkout.)
Name Labels - Putting this here because our camps require them on everything.
Camp Accessories
Mostly things I buy once and reuse every year.
Backpack - The question is how much room do you need? This guide will give you the answer and then you can look for the right dimensions from any brand.
Lunchbox - We love this freezable lunchbox holder to keep food cool in the heat + this stainless steel lunchbox.
Shoes - Keen’s Newport Sandals are my be-all-end-all summer camp shoe choice. My son now wears almost every pair my daughter outgrew. They are so durable, waterproof and washable!
Hats - Baseball cap style is my personal preference.
Water Bottles - I love these because you can add your kid’s names and not worry about name labels. Stainless steel is also my favorite material for water bottles. We use the 12 oz size.
Sunscreen - I’m a Babo fan. I also get a few of these sticks when my kids inevitably ask to apply it themselves.
Bugspray - I’m going to try this as our mosquitos are out of control. I also love these for the kid’s bites.
Pool + Beach
Here’s where I like to have a little fun. Many of the Minnow pieces were gifted to me, but I got to pick them out myself and genuinely love them!
Girl Swimsuits - 2-pieces can make bathroom trips easier. Otherwise I love this and this. Some very adorable ones currently on sale here too.
Boy Swimsuits - My favorites here and some cute prints on sale here too.
Shoes - My daughter lived in these last summer. Ordering these for my son.
Water Wings - These are especially helpful when managing multiple kids in the water.
Swim Diapers - Don’t forget these!
Goggles - My daughter has been reminding me to order these since March.
Big Bag - This big tote is my go-to bag when I need to bring our own towels. This from the summer style story is great too.
Sunglasses - Cutest.
Snacks
For backpacks, beach bags and essentially anytime you leave the house. If you want to try Thrive, this link will give you 40% off your first order.
Freezable Bags - I mentioned this brand above for a lunchbox but these freezable bags are great for food transportation when it’s hot.
Frozen Fruit - my kids eat these frozen cherries right out of the bag.
Popsicles - my summer claim to fame with my kids is bringing popsicles to camp pickup for them and their friends. These and these are our favorites. We also make them at home with these molds.
Puffs/Chips - these are great because there’s actually some protein in them. I also just ordered these and am excited to try. One more good one.
Seaweed Snacks - my kids love these or plain packs like this.
Bars - we are loving these right now.
Gummies - a gummy they can have anytime they want them.
See you next week!
This was so cute and I don’t even have kids
