I read somewhere that great style is how often you say no. I love this idea, and think it’s especially useful this month when overwhelm is high. It’s reflective of what I’ve been working on this month too, which is my shop!
You can now find all the small, beautiful things from this newsletter in one organized, edited place. The key word is edited. I work hard to bring you fewer, better things. I want to help you discover what you really love. I think the more we understand what we love, the less we need to buy. I hope the shop is a place for you to develop that understanding. And enjoy the mystery and delight of that experience!
The shop is broken out into Style, Motherhood, Littles, Care and Home. I’ll also create special seasonal collections like Best of Sale and Gift Guides (coming next week!)
A Note About Sales: I purposely re-launched my shop today as it’s a great tool to dissect what you actually want to buy on sale. This sale season is crazier than I’ve ever seen it. It’s really the wild, wild west with brands starting so early and sometimes promoting discounts that are actually available year-round with influencer codes. My takeaway: don’t feel rushed. It’s mostly manufactured. That being said, there are some special sales happening. You can find them in our Best of Sale edit, which we’ll continue to update as new sales drop so check back too!
I want to give the biggest shoutout to Emma and Jem who worked so hard to get the shop ready for today. As a full-time mom, these projects don’t happen without help. No one does it all. Or at least I definitely don’t. I’m so proud of what we’re building together, and so grateful for your creativity and smarts. Thank you Emma and Jem! And welcome (back) everyone to the Land of Oaks and Roses shop!
My Top 5 Sales
Since my head has been buried in sale land all month, I thought it would be helpful to share my top 5 of what’s available so far:
Land’s End: This one’s 60% off and it’s where I found kid snow boots, toddler snow boots, snow bibs, beanies and more for my family. They obviously have tons of other things but I found this one especially helpful for kids winter gear needs.
Ciao Lucia: This brand is so fun. Their sale launched this morning and it’s great (up to 40% off and includes a lot.)
Daily Elements: I’ve talked about my microgreens love before but I take this daily and feel so much better when I do. I’ve converted a few of you who have written to me about loving it too! It’s 25% off with code Olivia25 or Early25.
Burt’s Bees Baby: The pricing here is just so good if you need to refill any baby things. My favorites from when my kids were babies are their washcloths (still use!) and onesie packs.
Ozma of California: This actually is their best sale of the year (25% off) and I happen to love this particular piece.
This was hard to narrow this down, and doesn’t include sales that haven’t started yet so be sure to explore our Best of Sale edit and check back for updates too!
One Last Thing
I shared this quote last year before the holidays and wanted to share it again. I think it’s a beautiful lens to bring with you into challenging family situations if it resonates.
"The so-called black sheep in the family are, in fact, seekers of liberation roads for the family tree. Those members of the tree who do not adapt to the rules or traditions of the family system, those who are constantly seeking to revolutionize beliefs going in contrast to the roads marked by family traditions, those criticized, tried and even rejected, they are called to release the tree of repetitive stories that frustrate entire generations. The black sheep, those who do not adapt, those who scream, rebel, repair, and detoxify create a new and blooming branch. Countless unfulfilled desires, unfulfilled dreams, and frustrated talents of our ancestors manifest themselves in the black sheep’s rebellion looking to take place. The family tree, by inertia, will want to continue to maintain the castrating and toxic course of its trunk, which makes the black sheep’s task difficult and conflicting. Let no one make you doubt. Take care of your rarity as the most precious flower of your tree. You are the dream of all of your ancestors."

See you next week for gift guides!
Oh my god thank you for this
