Welcome to The Rose Garden, your place to find small beautiful things in the Land of Oaks and Roses.

June is mom olympics isn’t it? I haven’t felt this tired since the holidays. I actually wanted to challenge myself not to send a newsletter today. There’s a fine line between discipline and perfectionism for me… But that didn’t feel quite right so I’m giving you a quick, unedited update instead!
Penelope had her Kindergarten end of year performance yesterday and it was so emotional! I have so much to say about Kindergarten but I’ll save it for later in the summer…All I’ll say here is that there is just so much growth that happens in this year and it’s really wild and special to look back on.
I’m slowly converting our attic into my office, which I’m so excited about. By next week both kids will be in camp and I’ll be entering a new era where I can write a newsletter not at 5 a.m. It’s been six years since I’ve had this kind of flexibility and it already feels like a huge luxury to be sitting at my new desk right now!
I’ve been re-reading Anatomy of the Spirit and it’s been really cool to revisit an old book instead of starting a new one. Have you ever done this? It shows you how much you’ve grown because you realize that the meaning is different when you’re reading it as the person you are now.
Ok I have to run to pickup (half days the rest of the week!) Going to end this one with something my best friend and I always text each other, which is “no new lessons today!” Sending you a giant exhale instead.
See you next week!
With much love,
Olivia

The Rose Garden: A MDW Postcard
Welcome to The Rose Garden, your place to find small beautiful things in the Land of Oaks and Roses.
I love a quick check in! If you are up for it, I would love to see your new attic workspace. Having a kid upended my own home office, and I've been dreaming up ways to reclaim more space (or at worst, how I'm going to decorate a mini studio in a future home!). Let me live vicariously through you PLZ!
I love Anatomy of the Spirit! Love all you have shared. What a wonderful thought, to have that time to express yourself! Can't wait!
