What Spring Style Actually Looks Like

It's cozy without the bite and bright without the sweating.

Does anyone else feel like the fashion industry skips over Spring? In the last week, I’ve received emails about sandals, bikinis, one-shoulder looks and much more. There’s still snow on the ground as I’m writing this! Plus, a lot of those things will be on sale by the time you can actually wear them. Zooming straight to 80-degree imagination weather is a missed opportunity to embrace what Spring style is actually about. And there’s a lot to love about it! It’s cozy without the bite and bright without the sweating. The overarching word that comes to mind is hopeful. Here are my favorite pieces to actually wear this Spring. Enjoy!

These give you the warmth you need while correctly acknowledging that winter is over. You can layer them now + they transition to throw over your shoulders after 6pm in the summer. I wear mine for 6+ months of the year!

1. Two sweaters in one for an already good price. I also love this rollneck (on sale for $49.) Unsurprisingly, La Ligne also makes a great one.

2. This style is my current favorite. This very similar $71 version is also a 10.

3. She’s so pretty. Here’s a very cute similar style for half the price too.

I’m sorry, but you’ll be happy to have it!

1. I love the drape here.

2. This is the best looking rain boot I’ve come across. I’m surprised to see them so discounted! One size on sale left here, and two sizes left here too!

3. Can’t go wrong with this classic.

I promise to talk about shorts and minis when the time is right. In the meantime, there’s so much to love about moving to a lighter weight pant.

1. I had a hard time deciding between this trouser and this one. The linen pair will feel a bit more like an intentional nod to warm weather. But I love them both!

2. These are so comfortable. I sized down one size.

3. Beautiful right? I love this lighter shade of denim for Spring.

Where to go when you don’t need your puffer anymore. It feels like we’re days, ok maybe a few weeks, away!

1. I’m always drawn to a throw on.

2. I love this color.

3. Blazers are everywhere but I haven’t seen one that I like more than this.

A piece that immediately pulls an otherwise ordinary outfit together. Brown suede feels exactly right for right now.

2. An oh so beautiful splurge.

   p.s. As much as I love brown right now, a black leather belt is your first step into belt world. Here and here are two introductory styles that I love at different price points if you’re starting from zero.

There will be many days in the foreseeable future where you will be happier in a long-sleeve than a short-sleeve. This kind of layering piece is also what allows you to ditch your puffer earlier and more often.

1. This one is my favorite but it always sells out. This is another great version. Hopefully one of the two is available by the time this story goes live. If not, check back because they both restock.

2. I wanted to buy this for the name alone because it’s exactly how and when I’d wear it.

3. I love this grey to wear with lighter denim (price can’t be beat!) I also love this for something easy.

I love the convenience of a slide. I tend to invest in one pair every few years that I can wear with anything when I’m not in sneakers. They are right for Spring and also the first shoe I’ll pull out in September.

1. Oof these were hard to find stock of in the US so I’m giving some more buying options for a suede version: here, here and here. The leather version in the first link is only available with international shipping. Obviously, suede is going to be more delicate. Super beautiful though!

3. A square toe does a lot to counteract the daintiness of a classic ballet flat. Full disclosure: these were gifted to me. I’ve been wearing them a lot! Another square toe ballerina I love is here.
