At the Market: White Tee Love, Tested
I tried on 5 favorite white tees to help you find the one.
Welcome to At the Market, your place to browse what’s in season in the Land of Oaks and Roses.
White tees are the building block that make great warm weather outfits come together. About a year ago, I started compiling a list every time someone with great style referred to a white tee as “best” or “perfect.” There were 5 that came up over and over again, and I tried them each on for you! I purposely didn’t steam or zhuzh them in anyway so you can see how they might look when you have to throw one on as you’re running out of the door (just me?) As a thank you to paid subscribers, I’m giving away one of each of these tees! See note at the end of this newsletter for details if you’d like one. Enjoy and happy almost Summer!
With much love,
Olivia
Leset: The Margo, $68

This tee has a true cult following and now I know why. I thought it was the best looking out of the bunch (read on for the best feeling.) It was just right for me in terms of boxiness and length. The cotton feels polished without looking shiny or too white. The color has subtle blue undertones, which make it a great pair for denim or other blue bottoms. This is the kind of white tee that makes casual look pulled together.
Everlane: The Organic Cotton Box-Cut Tee, $30

This is a good, sturdy tee. The price is obviously compelling. Was it my favorite of the bunch? No. But it’s the one I’d grab for a potentially messy day with my kids. It’s the type of tee you can throw on for any kind of day and not worry about.
Re/Done: The Classic Tee, $95

This is my best friend’s favorite white tee. If you know her, you know that she has impeccable style while somehow always looking effortless. So unsurprisingly, this tee was the coolest of the bunch. It was also by far the best feeling. The cotton here has a vintage, lived in feel. It has a cooler, more casual look vs. The Margo.
Buck Mason White Slub Easy Crew - $45

This was the only other tee in the group that has the lived in, vintage feel (called Slub) that I described above. This version is longer all around (sleeves too) and a little less soft. I felt it was a little long for me (I’m 5’2) but maybe perfect for a taller person.
Soldout: The Iconically Soft Perfect Tee, $90

Another tee that has a serious cult following. I actually had to push this story back as I was on the waitlist for this tee for awhile. The tee is noticeably soft and also one of the longer ones. Again, it felt slightly long for me but I can see how it would be perfect for a taller person and/or for someone who wants more room to tuck in.
p.s. You can find the easy boxer shorts worn throughout here!
Giving Tree
As a thank you to paid subscribers I’m giving away one of each of these tees! If you love a tee here, let me know in the comments and I’ll be in touch with you to coordinate delivery.
See you next week!
I’ll take one of each. :)
Love it! All look great. The Margo and the classic look sturdy too!!
