Welcome to Oak & Rose Library, your place to learn new things in Land of Oaks and Roses.

I love my blazer, and that’s 100% because of how it makes me feel. I don’t even have to look in the mirror. The second it hits my shoulders, I feel instantly smarter, cooler, and more protected. After years of pregnancy and little kid chasing in soft clothes I chose to comfort me, the structure of a blazer feels completely different in the best way.

When we want comfort, we tend to go for soft, and soft is great. I really, really love soft. But sometimes we go for comfort when what we actually need is strength. We all have to do uncomfortable things. Or just be out in the world when we’d rather be under the covers. That’s when I reach for a blazer. A cozy sweater holds you, but a blazer holds you up. There’s an instant psychological shift when you put one on. I pulled together some of the blazer’s historical highlights to help us understand why because I think it’s so interesting!

P.S. For my favorite blazers, see here in the shop.
